The Seattle Seahawks returned to practice Tuesday after Sunday’s preseason loss to the Tennessee Titans. They also made a series of roster transactions, including three signings and the dreaded decision to place two young players on injured reserve. Bud Clark and Mason Richman are out for the year. The news is also bad for second-year offensive lineman Mason Richman, who was stepping up as one of the top reserve guards. After coming off what appeared to be a non-contact injury to his right leg, Macdonald said Sunday that Richman was feared to have a “long-term” injury. There’s nothing more long-term than being out for the entire season. Seahawks sign three free agents, including the son of a former Seahawk. Seattle had an open roster spot before placing Clark and Richman on IR, and the team wasted no time filling those three vacancies. Running back Justin Jones returns after playing in the Dallas Cowboys game. He was waived shortly after, but will presumably get some playing time against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday. Running back Anthony Hankerson’s return to college football essentially opened a spot for someone else at the position. Finally, offensive tackle Derrick Graham was signed after the absence of Seahawks reserve tackle Amari Kight, who did not play any snaps last Sunday. Graham’s father, also named Derrick Graham, played nine seasons in the NFL from 1990 to 1998. He was Seattle’s starting right guard in the 1996 and 1997 seasons before finishing his career with the Oakland Raiders.
