Genshin Impact Studio Lean Into Elden Ring In Its New Action-RPG

Opening Gamescom Opening Night Live today was something called Nodus Fall, a new game from HoYoverse that looks and sounds an awful lot like the studio’s take on Elden Ring. Nodus Fall is an original cooperative action game in which you play as a “Weaver” in a world where “divine authority has collapsed” and you must work together with others to take down “mythical beings.” From the trailer, we can see creatures like a dragon and a phoenix dominating the land, a giant titan with its head on fire, a muscular guy hitting an anvil, wolves, and huge environments clearly meant to make players feel really small. The trailer also shows off some flashy sword fighting and co-op battles with multiple players taking on some really big guys. Now look, I don’t want to sit here and talk about how much it looks like Elden Ring, but it really does look a lot like Elden Ring, especially in terms of the characters shown and the way some of the shots in the trailer are put together. The gameplay itself feels like a mix of that and Monster Hunter, and I have to admit it looks cool jumping on the back of a big guy you’re fighting. Nodus Fall is being created in Unreal Engine 5, which I only mention because it’s the only other information we have about this game at the moment. There is no launch window yet. We will update as more information arrives.
