Rita El Khoury / Android AuthorityAdd Android Authority on Google: TL;DR A new update to Pixel Weather for Wear OS introduces three new complications. Pixel Watch owners can now add air quality, pollen, and precipitation index complications to their watch face. Some third-party Wear OS weather apps already offer some of these complications for Pixel Watch owners. Google retired the existing Weather app for Pixel Watch models last year in favor of the Pixel Weather app. Since then, the app has allowed Pixel Watch owners to choose from up to three watch face complications: sunrise and sunset, UV index, and weather. Now, a new update to Pixel Weather for Wear OS adds three more complications to the list. Google is rolling out dedicated complications for air quality index, pollen, and precipitation as part of the Pixel Weather app version 1.0.0.94 update. For the uninitiated, smartwatch complications are like widgets that offer real-time information on the watch face. Common Pixel Watch complications include battery level, a step counter, and upcoming calendar appointments. While the three new complications don’t appear to be widely available yet, Telegram user @ItsJustJoshDev shared with us a screenshot of the Pixel Watch companion app, along with an image showing the newly added Air Quality Index complication on the watch face. In addition to adding these complications from the Pixel Watch companion app, users can also long-press the watch face to modify or add new complications. While these are undoubtedly useful updates to the Pixel Watch weather experience, we’re wondering why these complications weren’t available when the new app first appeared. It was released for Pixel Watch models last year. Additionally, Wear OS has a library of third-party apps to choose from, and some weather apps already offer some variation of these newly added complications.
