STRAWBERRY, Calif. (KGO) — Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred in unincorporated Marin County that left three people dead Sunday. Sources have now confirmed with ABC7 Eyewitness News that two of the deceased are former officers with the San Francisco Police Department. At the scene Sunday, family members could be heard crying after learning that three people were found dead in a home in the unincorporated Mill Valley community of Strawberry near Tiburon. Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area shortly after 5 p.m. “Inside the home, they discovered three deceased bodies. The nature of those victims and their connection to each other are part of our active investigations,” said Miguel Almaguer of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office provides an update on a shooting that occurred in a Strawberry neighborhood. Almaguer did not provide details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Sergeant Kevin Mannix is the suspect in the shooting. Sources also say his wife, Ann Mannix, a former deputy chief of the San Francisco Police Department, was shot and killed, along with the couple’s 25-year-old daughter. Sources with intimate knowledge of what happened told ABC7’s Dan Noyes that Kevin Mannix shot and killed his wife, then his daughter, before turning the gun on himself. Property records show the home is owned by the two former officers. Investigators are waiting for that search warrant to come in, and we could have updates as early as Monday morning.SUICIDE PREVENTION: Local resources for those in crisisAuthorities say this is an active investigation and there is no threat to the public. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 to be connected to the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.Stay with ABC7 Eyewitness News for the latest details on this developing story.Copyright © 2026 KGO-TV.
