Nearly 30,000 pounds of raw meat imported from South America have been recalled in two states for failing to reinspect the product after arriving in the U.S., according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). Florida-based Corte Argentino USA LLC is recalling about 29,628 pounds of raw meat products that were imported from Argentina “without the benefit of a import reinspection into the United States,” which checks documentation, labeling, packaging, overall product condition, and sometimes samples for contaminants, FSIS announced Friday. The affected products were produced between May 15 and 20. They have use or freeze dates between September 15 and 20. The recall includes cardboard boxes of various weights containing “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” boneless beef, “Top Sirloin Butt” (“Cuadril Sin Tapa”), “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” boneless beef “Eye Round” (“Peceto”), “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” boneless beef “Topside Cap Off” (“Nalga AD S/Tapa”), “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” of boneless beef “Flat” (“Square Meat”) and “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” of boneless beef “Knuckle” (“Bola de Lomo”). There have been no confirmed reports of illnesses or injuries related to consumption of the recalled products. (J. N° OF. 2025” and the shipping mark “26644-AA.” The problem was discovered during routine FSIS inspection activities.
