More than 12 terabytes of data has been leaked, containing compilations of all games uploaded to Steam between 2003 and 2013. We still don’t know everything that is in the files due to their enormous size. But people have already unearthed assets related to the canceled Half-Life 2: Episode 3, content removed from Portal 2, and a version of a game called F-Stop that’s set in the Portal universe but relies on a camera mechanic. The leak also includes titles from third-party developers. The first versions of the Call of Duty and Resident Evil installments have been unearthed, as have versions of Mirror’s Edge, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Dragon Age: Origins. And more will likely come to light as people explore the treasure. But arguably the most interesting discoveries are related to Valve’s Portal 2. Detectives have unearthed deleted dialogue that completely changes how you’ll see the Companion Cubes, the alternate intro and GlaDOS sequences, as well as a version of Weaponizer intended for Half-Life 2: Episode 3.
