Iranian official vows ‘not to negotiate’ with US until Tehran’s demands are met An Iranian official declared Saturday that Iran will not return to the negotiating table with the United States until all of its terms are met. “As long as the American side does not accept all of Iran’s conditions, dialogue and negotiation are of no use,” Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian parliament, wrote in X. “There are no negotiations. Until Iran’s terms are met, talks are useless,” he added. Azizi did not elaborate on Iran’s conditions, but last month, Mohammad Baqer Zulqader, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, outlined six demands from Iran before the Strait of Hormuz can be reopened. Zulqader said the United States must stop threatening Iran and insulting what he described as the country’s sacred values, end military actions against Iran and its allies in Lebanon, the Palestinian territories, Yemen and Iraq, and lift the naval blockade. Their remaining demands called for the withdrawal of US sea and air forces from Iran, compensation for damage caused by two wars, the removal of sanctions against Iran, and the unconditional release of frozen Iranian assets.
