Pablo Torre is a troublemaker. In the best way possible. A recent episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out explored the entity known as Life Surge, which has allegedly taken advantage of Christians who attend events with speakers like former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow in an effort to get them to pony up cash to enroll in classes on how to make money. It was enough for Tebow to suspend his dealings with Life Surge. “The allegations are extremely, extremely serious,” Tebow told reporters on Friday, “and it’s something we take very seriously. And so for us, our team will conduct an investigation, but we will also pause our relationship until we can learn more about the facts so we can understand more.” Tebow was asked if he was aware of the situation before the Torre investigation. “Honestly, I was at an anti-human trafficking conference yesterday and the team shared with me when we were leaving while we flew to Alabama to [an] event,” Tebow said. “And some of that took us by surprise, and I think that’s why we’re trying to understand more facts to really learn.” That’s not a clear, unequivocal denial. Still, Torre’s investigation put enough light on the situation to make Tebow back off, regardless of what he knew or should have known before Torre pulled the curtain on Life Surge. It’s possible that the group misled Tebow in the same way it allegedly misled those who attended events where Tebow spoke Historically, many Christians have seen their strong beliefs leveraged to make big money for charlatans who view intense faith as an opportunity to make easy money.
