As Marvel prepares to re-enter single-player gaming with Wolverine’s upcoming solo outing, attention is also turning to the future game of another A-lister: Iron Man. First announced in 2022, Motive and EA’s title has been quiet ever since, and you wouldn’t be wrong if you’d forgotten about it. But on Friday morning, social media lit up with a leaked trailer (with largely unfinished elements) seemingly destined for a big reveal sometime this year. We won’t link it, but it shows Tony Stark putting on his armored suit, flying through the sky (the barrel rolls, baby!), and using it to fight equally armored enemies. There are also glimpses of some familiar faces normally in Tony’s orbit, like Rhodey and Pepper Potts, and glimpses of villains like Madame Masque and Blizzard. Well, that didn’t go as planned. See you when we’re ready.” This game, when released, will be the only one in EA’s previously announced trilogy that has since been pulled. A Black Panther title was in development very early before its studio closed last year, and there was never any news of the third game. Meanwhile, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, which is being developed by Skydance and is another Marvel game whose status has been questioned like Iron Man, remains missing.
