Several major Final Fantasy Content Warning for Discussion of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) On YouTube, a user identified as Chunni Doll posted a video alleging that modder Noffletoff, along with several other Final Fantasy XIV players, participated in the discussion and sharing of CSAM. The video claims that the chats took place in an invite-only chat room that was part of a larger Matrix server focused on loli/shotacon content. (Sometimes described as an alternative to Discord, Matrix servers are decentralized servers that allow real-time communication.) The video was accompanied by a Proton document showing screenshots of the chatlogs. Kotaku reviewed the document and while direct references to victims’ names and explicit descriptions of CSAM content have been redacted, the alleged participants can be seen making references to content they viewed and potentially sharing content with users on another platform called Session. Matrix administrators were informed about the server, shut it down, and banned the alleged participants. Noffletoff is the creator of several paid Final Fantasy XIV body and animation mods that are widely used to create NSFW FFXIV content. As a result of these accusations, numerous FFXIV modding communities are removing their work from their platforms. Additionally, Noffletoff’s Patreon and X accounts have been deleted. Final Fantasy XIV Mod Archive (XMA), one of the largest FFXIV mod hosting sites, has banned the account associated with Noffletoff. Kotaku has reviewed messages posted on the XMA Discord server confirming Noffletoff’s suspension, a decision announced by a moderator after a user asked what would be done in light of the allegations. “I think it is reasonable at this time to go ahead and suspend Noff’s account (and I have done so),” the post read. Kotaku also reviewed messages on Booty Bay, a Discord server associated with FFXIV mod hacking. The moderators of that Discord server have taken similar action, removing their mods from their repositories, banning them from future uploads, and banning all discussions related to the allegations against Noffletoff. Snowcloak, a Final Fantasy XIV modding program that allows users to view other players’ mods in the game, will block the display of Noffletoff mods. “Users attempting to use these mods will receive a warning that the file is locked,” reads a message from a Snowcloak moderator, according to server screenshots reviewed by Kotaku. According to the video, the alleged participants have been reported to the authorities. Kotaku has contacted Square Enix for comment.
