SALINA, Kan. — Two days after announcing he would visit Kansas again, President Donald Trump’s return trip to the Sunflower State was canceled. Trump was scheduled to hold a rally in Salina, Kansas, on Saturday, October 31 at the Salina Regional Airport. The Salina Regional Airport Authority confirmed to KMBC 9 News on Thursday that the visit has been cancelled. A spokesperson for the organization said the Trump administration canceled all Kansas events for Saturday. No reason was provided for the cancellation. This was scheduled to be his second trip to the state in less than two weeks as Republicans make a last-ditch effort to keep the Kansas Senate seat in GOP hands. Republican Sen. Roger Marshall is in a tight race against Democrat Adam Hamilton, drawing national attention to a state that has traditionally been a Republican stronghold. Trump was right in the Wichita area on October 19, where he rallied his supporters behind Marshall. KMBC 9 News reached out to the Kansas Republican Party for more information.
