The wife of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes had the last laugh after Las Vegas Raiders coach Klint Kubiak incorrectly predicted his team would hold the lead at halftime on Sunday. Brittany Mahomes posted a series of photos on Instagram from Allegiant Stadium. It included the caption: “We’re winning. We’re going to win the game.” That’s also what Kubiak told CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson as he headed to the locker room at the end of the second quarter: The Raiders held a three-point lead through the third quarter before collapsing. The Chiefs scored 20 points in the quarter to emerge with a 30-27 victory. Any coach in Kubiak’s position would be expected to be outwardly confident in his team’s chances. What else was I supposed to say? Those inside the Chiefs locker room presumably didn’t catch Kubiak’s interview either, as they were focused on their own issues. Brittany Mahomes was clearly paying attention.
