Oil prices drop amid new US-Iran talks as Trump says ‘the hammer’ still on the table

2 hours agoIranian ‘ghost fleet’ was filmed evading US blockade en route to China, UANI says. Small Iranian tankers from the “ghost fleet” are evading the US naval blockade and smuggling licensed liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to China through an obscure maritime hub off Malaysia, according to US investigators who covertly filmed one of the vessels en route in September. United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), which carried out the months-long investigation, said in At least nine similar tankers carrying Iranian oil or LPG have also evaded US restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz since Washington reimposed the blockade of the Iranian port in July. The UANI identified one of the sanctioned oil tankers as the SOGL. It allegedly escaped the blockade on September 1 carrying approximately 500,000 barrels of Iranian LPG after picking it up at an Iranian port in August. The ship then traveled thousands of miles to an anchorage offshore Malaysia, where UANI filmed the ship receiving fuel and other offshore services. The ship then traveled to China, where the organization said it unloaded its Iranian cargo. “This tanker had loaded its Iranian LPG from the port of Assaluyeh, Iran, in late August. It then violated the US blockade and headed to an anchorage in Malaysia,” explained Jemima Shelley, senior analyst at UANI. “What this shows us is that some vessels are managing to violate the United States maritime blockade,” Shelley said of the images shared exclusively with Fox News Digital. “Most vessels are not, but since the restoration in mid-July, we have only seen nine small tankers that have managed to breach the US blockade and leave the Gulf of Oman loaded with oil or LPG. “At the center of the operation is the outer limits anchorage of Malaysia’s Eastern Port, known as EOPL, a shipping zone approximately 70 kilometers off the coast of Malaysia. The anchorage has become a critical staging point for Iran-sanctioned energy trade with China, Shelley said. Excerpt from an article by Emma Bussey of Fox News.
