Police in Smyrna, Georgia, said Friday they found a woman’s dismembered remains stuffed in trash bags inside the trunk of a car at an apartment complex this week. The victim, Shanteria Mosley, known to family and friends as “KT,” worked as a DoorDash delivery driver. Investigators said one of the bags “was squeezed tightly showing the outline of a body part.” An 18-year-old girl who lived in the same apartment complex has been charged with her murder. “This is a shocking crime. I don’t know how else to describe it,” Lt. Meredith Holt, public information officer for the Smyrna Police Department, said at a news conference Friday. “I’ve been in law enforcement for 25 years, been a part of multiple homicide cases, and worked crimes against children for 16 years, and this is a particularly gruesome crime.” “I can’t imagine what the family is going through,” Holt added. Mosley’s body was discovered while searching the car at Park Valley Apartments in response to a missing person report earlier in the week. Authorities waited for officials from the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office to arrive at the complex before opening the bags to confirm they contained body parts, according to a news release. Kingston Bradley of Smyrna, Georgia, was arrested and charged with concealing the death of another person and malice murder in connection with Mosley’s death. Police said Bradley lives with his father at Park Valley Apartments, where the body was found. Holt did not say whether Bradley and Mosley knew each other before the incident, but said authorities are still investigating how the two were connected. Holt said the victim was not working the day she was killed. Neither DoorDash nor Mosley’s family members immediately responded to requests for comment.
