When Jets cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers was carted off the practice field on a stretcher Tuesday, it was a terrifying moment. But it looks like Stiggers is going to be fine. The Jets have announced that Stiggers has been released from the hospital and is home recovering. Stiggers ended up needing to be in the hospital just hours after collapsing on the sideline during practice. It’s unclear what led him to faint and it’s unknown when he might return to practice. Stiggers, 24, is heading into his third season with the Jets. He’s an easy player to root for given his journey to the NFL after never playing college football. Stiggers moved from high school football to the fan-controlled football league and then signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. In 2023, Stiggers was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie and the Jets drafted him in 2024, making him the first player in 25 years to be drafted by the NFL after playing in the CFL. Last year, Stiggers played in 15 games for the Jets. He started four games on defense and was a strong contributor on special teams.
