iOS 27.2 is officially here, with additions including improved Siri AI powers and new features for Messages, Apple TV, and more. And if you’re an iPhone Duo owner, iOS 27.2 includes two exclusive features for your new device. #1: Apple Pencil Support The Apple Pencil is now officially compatible with the iPhone Duo and was released just days after the device first arrived in users’ hands. You will need an Apple Pencil (USB-C) to use this feature, as it is the only Pencil model compatible with iPhone Duo. You can use Apple Pencil on both the outer and inner screens to do things like annotate PDFs and images, draw and doodle, and save handwritten notes. After Apple first introduced the iPhone Duo last month, most users expected a longer wait for Pencil support. It’s great to see it arrive so soon. #2: Edge Light for FaceTime and other video calls Edge Light on macOS One thing that makes the iPhone Duo especially good for video calls is the ability to fold it into “laptop mode” (what Apple calls “sitting” mode) for hands-free calling. But with iOS 27.2, Duo gets another feature ideal for video calls: Edge Light. Edge Light is a macOS feature that is now available on iOS exclusively for iPhone Duo. Adds a ring of light around the edge of the screen to illuminate your face during calls. You can use Edge Light with FaceTime or popular third-party video calling apps, like Zoom.
