I’ve had the iPhone 18 Pro for about a month now, and during that time three main features have consistently impressed me. #1: Battery Life When Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro, it compared its battery life to that of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, a model universally praised for its impressive runtime. After a month of use, the iPhone 18 Pro’s battery truly is top-notch. I don’t even think about charging it during the day and at the end of most days I have about 60% battery left. I can’t even imagine what I would end the day with if I had the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max. Suffice to say, Apple’s battery upgrades this year are excellent and anyone who owns an older iPhone model should be very happy regardless of which Pro size they choose. #2: Major Camera Updates Apple improves iPhone cameras every year. But in reality it is not very common for the main camera to improve substantially. In recent years, for example, Apple has focused more on updating the Telephoto, Ultra Wide Angle and Front cameras. But the main camera with variable aperture of the iPhone 18 Pro is the star this year and I loved it. I have no training in professional photography, so adding professional controls is not appealing to me. And I never manually change apertures with the camera. But by simply using the ‘Auto’ setting, I still take photos that look especially great to me. Most often they are ƒ/1.48, with some ƒ/1.8 also included. And while I don’t have the experience to describe why they seem so good to me, I will simply say that I am very happy with the camera. #3: Vapor Chamber Cooling I use my iPhone outdoors a lot, often on sunny days, and the iPhone 18 Pro’s vapor chamber has been a welcome improvement in keeping the iPhone usable. Previous iPhone models often struggled against the elements, especially on warm, bright days. This was especially frustrating when I was trying to capture a special moment with the Camera app and my warm iPhone was too slow to take the photo. With the iPhone 18 Pro, although it still occasionally gets a little warm, I never noticed a lag in performance as a result. Instead, the vapor chamber keeps everything cool enough to deliver the iPhone experience I expect. Do you have an iPhone 18 Pro? What are your favorite features? Let us know in the comments.
