Greg Joswiak talks iPhone Duo in-store availability and demand ahead of launch

Friday is launch day for the iPhone Duo, and there are plenty of eager customers waiting to walk into an Apple Store and get one after a rocky pre-order rollout. In a new interview with TechRadar, Apple senior vice president of marketing Greg Joswiak offered insight into demand and in-store availability of the first foldable iPhone. Of in-store availability, Joswiak said, “You know, we didn’t ship them all during pre-order, we have them available in stores, we’re excited.” … “I am sure we will have some satisfied customers.” “Well, I think you saw that the demand for pre-orders last week was extraordinary,” Joswiak added. “People understood it. They understood what we were doing.” In a statement to 9to5Mac earlier this week, Apple confirmed that stores would have “limited” iPhone Duo availability for walk-in customers in the countries listed below. Joz’s comments further confirm that some customers will be happy tomorrow. United States, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Macau, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and most stores in Italy. Joswiak will be at Apple’s flagship store on New York’s Fifth Avenue for tomorrow’s iPhone Duo launch. He will likely be joined by other Apple executives, including CEO John Ternus.
