D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser’s office and D.C. police confirmed Saturday that a city official died Friday night in a collision with an electric scooter. Police identified the man as Talib Shakir, 50, who served as director of the mayor’s office of returning citizen affairs, which coordinates services for formerly incarcerated people.
