The bond market on Thursday shrugged off Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s unusual effort to prevent rising government borrowing costs. In early trading, the 30-year bond yield rose to 5.27 percent before falling back to 5.24 percent, erasing more than half of the drop in costs that Bessent’s market intervention had received.
