Cheektowaga, N.Y. — The Buffalo Niagara International Airport said it has been working on emergency repairs after an issue with its fuel farm’s circuit system, which has led to delays with departing flights. In the overnight hours, there were reports the airport was out of fuel and unable to refuel aircraft. That included from the Federal Aviation Administration, which sent a notice to airmen around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.In a statement, the airport said it did not experience a fuel shortage.Currently the Buffalo Niagara International Airport is working on emergency repairs after an issue occurred with the fuel farm’s circuit system. This caused delays with some departing flights having to be diverted to refuel. At this time there are minimal delays. Crews are working diligently to fix the issue, and passengers are advised to check with their airline for specific flight information. Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for Gas Buddy, noted on social media that the airport is fed with jet fuel by truck and not pipeline, so the issue is “not concerning at this point.”Most flights from Buffalo are still scheduled on time.
