Brentford 3-0 Spurs: How the players rated

Antonin Kinsky: Bad day for the Spurs’ new starting goalkeeper. He was at fault when he pushed Jensen’s shot into Janelt’s goal. Misguided distribution. 5Archie Gray: The youngest captain in Spurs history, but it’s not a day to celebrate. He played as an emergency right back and looked like, well, an emergency right back. 5Marcos Senesi: It was difficult for him to deal with the physical presence of Igor Thiago and the movement of those around the Brentford Brazilian forward. January 5 Paul van Hecke: For Senesi read Van Hecke. He never feels comfortable in a chaotic Spurs defense. 5Andrew Robertson: Tough debut for the veteran left back. He struggled to cope with Brentford’s pace and movement on the right flank. 5Conor Gallagher: He took a couple of hard hits early on and shot wide. Booked for a trip to Sangare and it was no surprise when he was replaced at half-time. 4Lucas Bergvall: Too many wasted passes and poor loss of possession for Brentford’s second goal. 4Sandro Tonali: Desperately poor debut for Spurs’ £100m signing. Ironic cheers for a first half effort and they exerted no serious influence on the game. 4Mikey Moore: The young man was isolated on the right flank and had little support. but at least it looked dangerous and gave Kelleher some work to do. 6Richarlison: Ineffective. He became discouraged as the game progressed. 4Mathys Tel: The first smart movie hinted at a threat, but then it was anonymous. 4Subs:Mateus Fernandes (at 45, Gallagher): Anonymous on debut. 5Rodrigo Bentancur (in the 45th, Bergvall): gave away a penalty. Poor. 5James Maddison (68, Moore): No moment has impact. 5Dominic Solanke (68, Richarlison): The game was over when he entered. 5Destiny Udogie (in 86, Gray)Unused subs: Dubravka, Danso, Davies, Williams-Barnett.
