Apple finally shared the tvOS 27 release notes today, almost two weeks after releasing the software update. Many of the new features and changes listed were already known, but we’re sharing the notes for completeness. tvOS 27 was released on Monday, September 14, but Apple TV doesn’t show release notes for software updates in the Settings app. Instead, Apple periodically updates a support document that describes what’s new with tvOS updates. Here’s what’s new for Apple TV in tvOS 27, including video podcasts in the Podcasts app, AutoMix in the Apple Music app, the ability to set preferred text size in supported apps, improved AirPlay performance, and more: This update brings improvements to the Apple Music, Podcasts, and AirPlay experiences on tvOS. It also adds subtitles to more content, adds the ability to lock individual apps, and provides bug fixes and security updates for your Apple TV 4K. Apple Music: Support for lossless high-resolution audio provides a studio-quality listening experience. – AutoMix transitions from one song to the next like a DJ does, stretching time and matching beat to provide a continuous playback experience.
