Angel Reese Reveals Break from Podcast After WNBA Season, ‘I’m Dedicating This Offseason to Myself’

After a long WNBA season that ended with the Atlanta Dream losing in the Finals, Angel Reese plans to spend her offseason recovering and improving. That means she’ll be taking some time off from her podcasts while “I’ll dedicate this offseason to myself,” she announced Monday on Instagram. Reese is coming off the best season of his young career, averaging 16.4 points, 12.1 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. She earned her first Defensive Player of the Year award, as well as a Second Team All-WNBA nod and a First Team All-Defensive honor. Behind Reese’s excellent season, the Dream, which traded for Reese last offseason, finished the regular season 30-14. They swept the Washington Mystics and New York Liberty en route to their first WNBA Finals since 2013, but fell short against the Golden State Valkyries in seven games. “It’s tough. Especially with a good group, a great group, that I’ve honestly had the honor of fighting with all year,” he told reporters after losing Game 7 on Saturday. “They changed my life and I’m so grateful for them. And I’m so grateful for them. It’s hard right now, but we’ll be back. And I always say, ‘Delayed, not denied.’ This is only the third year.[my teammates have] There are also many more years left, but I am really grateful that I was able to go to war with this group. I would do it again, again.” Unfortunately for basketball fans, Reese’s break this offseason apparently means she won’t be participating in Unrivaled, which she has played in the past two seasons. She was not included among the 48 players announced for this year’s roster. But the Dream star will surely be excited heading into the WNBA season as she tries to get her team back to the Finals.
