However, he clarified that steroids are not a magic solution to getting muscular and it still requires a lot of hard work. “Do steroids work? Absolutely. Have I taken PEDs? Absolutely! I’ve never said no!” Cage claimed that his success is not due to PEDs, although he acknowledged that he has used testosterone replacement therapy to help maintain his physique at 42 years old. According to Cage, he’s not alone in that regard, noting that the federal government has changed the classification of many PEDs in recent years, and more recent research has denied any connection between steroids and cardiac arrest. Despite this, Cage has an important warning about steroid use. “There’s obviously a difference between use and abuse in everything, right?” he noted, citing how someone can consume alcohol responsibly or start abusing it on a regular basis. “Everyone takes peptides, and they’re fantastic, they’re incredibly phenomenal! Again, are they magic? No. Do they work overnight? Cage also recalled his earliest history with steroid use, stating that he never touched them until after his first bodybuilding contest, denying that he was taking anything during his independent career. “I had a really bad temper in high school and stuff when I was younger, and that was also one of the reasons why I never wanted to do it. I thought that because of the steroid rage I was going to lose control, which, I’m afraid to tell you, is also kind of silly,” he opined. Cage then added that people who have “steroid rage” are probably just using steroids to justify the anger problems they already have, while admitting that some people will react differently to the chemicals they inject into their bodies.
