Twenty-seven people were killed in a nighttime drone strike in the kyiv region, its governor confirmed. Tymur Tkachenko said another 42 people, including four children, were wounded in the Russian attack on the Bucha district. Another 381 people have been evacuated. Search and rescue operations continued early Saturday as emergency services inspected buildings for damage. Tkachenko later added that a 14-year-old boy was killed in another attack in the Boryspil district. “This is yet another victim of Russian terror,” he said. President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, saying that more than 300 emergency responders had been deployed to the area of the attack. Zelensky also reported new night attacks in the Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions. “Ukraine cannot be alone in seeking solutions to protect against such attacks, and I thank everyone who is helping with additional support packages and sanctions against Russia,” he wrote on Telegram. The Ukrainian military said it had shot down 233 Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight on Saturday. Russia and Ukraine have been stepping up their attacks in recent months, with kyiv focusing its operations on Russian economic targets. In the last 24 hours, Moscow has reported attacks in the Belgorod and Rostov regions. Rostov Governor Yuri Slusar said seven people were wounded in the attack.
