Hunter Biden sat in on a lengthy two-hour interview with Tucker Carlson that premiered today, during which he called President Donald Trump an “existential threat” to the United States, while mildly criticizing people who say he’s simply a symptom of broader political rot. “The only existential threat I think we face, as a country, is Donald Trump,” he told Carlson. “I don’t think Trump is simply the symptom of a disease. I think Trump is instrumental in explaining why this disease has gone from a local epidemic to a pandemic in the United States of America.” Carlson presented the ongoing war in Iran as evidence of one of the Trump administration’s “great failures,” and then confusingly suggested that the lack of criticism from Democrats, particularly Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), amounts to condoning the war: “I mean, you could say a lot of things about Trump that are bad, but getting into a war that we can’t win, where Americans are dying, in Iran, that will only diminish America’s power and bankrupt us; I mean, that’s the only way out, really, and it will make Iran stronger. And, like, Chuck Schumer says, ‘Yeah, it’s bad,’ but of course he backs it up.”
