Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds may have received a new leak revealing potential characters coming to the game in Year 2. As many of you know, SEGA released a massive 2.0.0 update last week. As expected, it didn’t take long for fans to get to work and extract data from the new files. It is through this apparent datamine shared by VocaloidMikuBr that we can get an idea about what characters are coming in the future. First, let’s talk about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake DLC. According to the game files, Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockhart have entries in the files. To be fair, these aren’t surprising choices – they’re two of the most popular characters in Final Fantasy 7. However, perhaps someone would have expected Sephiroth to become Tifa’s runner. For free characters, there is someone named “Marisa” in the files. Some speculate that this could be a Touhou collaboration, but that remains to be seen. Other characters have also been seen. These include Movie Sonic, Will (potentially from Metaphor: ReFantazio), Sakura Shinguji from Sakura Wars, and Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter. Please note that this datamine is not a complete reveal of everything SEGA has planned for the game. Also, since nothing has been announced, these characters are not officially confirmed yet. In case you missed it, we have the huge patch notes for the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds 2.0.0 update. The game is available on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. Do any of these characters interest you?
