The Baltimore Ravens are acquiring veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Brissett will add experience to a quarterback room that will be without starter Lamar Jackson and backup Tyler Huntley for the foreseeable future. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the trade is expected to be completed next weekend. That means the Ravens will be without Brissett for Thursday night’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Baltimore is still set to start undrafted rookie quarterback Joe Fagnano. Austin Reed and Kedon Slovis will back him up, and both signed with the Ravens earlier this week. Schefter reported that Brissett is expected to start for Baltimore in its next game against the Los Angeles Chargers on the Week 10 edition of “Monday Night Football.” Baltimore will acquire Brissett for his experience. The current Ravens quarterback has no career touchdown passes, while starting running back Derrick Henry has four. Brissett signed with the Cardinals this summer after waiting for a better contract. He has led Arizona to a 3-5 record this season and has 1,719 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. The veteran quarterback was benched late in the third quarter of last week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Arizona was trailing 17-3, but Gardner Minshew led the Cardinals to a comeback, beating the Cowboys in overtime. On Tuesday, it was announced that Minshew would start this week for Arizona against the Seattle Seahawks. While Ravens fans can get excited about the experienced QB heading to their team, they will have to wait a week to see him in action. That means Fagnano will lead the offense in the meantime, as Jackson was added to injured reserve with a thumb injury and Huntley was diagnosed with a toe injury that is expected to end his season. In relief last week, Fagnano completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and one interception. Fagnano also ran the ball three times for three yards.
