Anker’s new window-mounted camera monitors the outside of your home from within it

Anker announced a new indoor security camera designed to keep an eye on your yard, driveway, or porch through a window, rather than monitoring what’s inside your home. The new Anker Eufy Window Camera E10 takes a similar approach to the Wyze Window Cam that launched almost a year ago. It mounts directly against a window using an included mounting tag to reduce glare and reflections, but the camera does not require any waterproofing as it does not withstand the outdoor elements. The Eufy Window Camera E10 is available now for $79.99 through Anker’s online store and Amazon, making it more than twice as expensive as the $34.98 Wyze Window Cam. But the E10 comes with some useful upgrades. The Wyze camera is limited to 1080p, while the E10 has a much higher maximum resolution of 2.5K, capturing more detailed 15fps video at 2688 x 1520. The E10 also offers a slightly wider and higher field of view than the Wyze camera at 105 degrees horizontal and 57 degrees vertical. But to suit a wider range of installations, such as an upstairs window, the E10’s camera angle can be manually adjusted up and down by 25 degrees using a wheel on the back to ensure the areas you want to monitor are correctly framed. Other features of the E10 include color night vision, AI-powered motion detection and alerts that can differentiate between humans, animals and vehicles, and a microphone that is limited to louder noises given the camera’s location. Footage can be recorded locally to a microSD card up to 256GB in size or sent to the cloud with an optional subscription. And while Anker claims installation can take less than a minute, you’ll have to deal with the possibility of routing and hiding a power cable, since the E10 lacks a rechargeable battery.
