It’s gotten ugly for the Chargers, who fell to 0-7 with Sunday’s loss to the Rams. Despite coming off their bye, the Chargers couldn’t do much offensively under embattled coordinator Mike McDaniel. Justin Herbert threw two more interceptions, giving him a league-high 10 in seven games. He was also captured, which almost got him picked up to get a scoop and score. After kicking three field goals on Sunday, the Chargers haven’t scored a touchdown since late in the third quarter of their Week 5 loss to the Broncos. “Yeah, aware of that and keep working, keep studying,” head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters in his postgame press conference. “It’s not a familiar position for any of the guys in our locker room, so we’re the only ones who can change it. We’re very motivated and dedicated to doing it.” When asked if he’s concerned about Herbert’s turnovers, Harbaugh said, “Yes, we’re aware of what the problems are and we’re the only ones who can fix them.” McDaniel will continue to call plays, Harbaugh said. Although asked why he trusts that this group can change the situation, Harbaugh did not give a very specific answer. “First of all, it’s a team effort and we’re going to watch the film,” Harbaugh said. “We’re going to address our issues, where we can improve, and keep working. That’s very motivated and dedicated to doing this right. “We’re the only ones who have the opportunity to change it, to fix it. And that’s what we’re going to do, get back to work. I haven’t been in this position many times either, here as a coach. But I know we have to dedicate ourselves to making this change. That’s where we are.” The Chargers will be home to play the Texans in Week 9.
