Week 8 of the 2026 NFL season is almost over, with only the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks left to play on “Monday Night Football.” There was a lot of excitement on Sunday, including two games that went to overtime, but unfortunately they were not injury-free. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to the lineup after rehabbing an ankle injury, but that excitement was short-lived as he suffered a thumb injury on his first pass attempt of the game. According to head coach Jesse Minter, he will need surgery and a stint on injured reserve, a brutal blow. Backup Tyler Huntley is also dealing with what is believed to be a toe injury, forcing Baltimore to turn to its emergency third quarterback, Joe Fagnano. He completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and an interception in relief of Jackson and Huntley this week. The Ravens are playing on a short week, as they are set to host the Jacksonville Jaguars on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 9. The Detroit Lions handed the Minnesota Vikings their first loss of the season, but lost a key playmaker on defense when All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell suffered a scary neck injury. He was pinned to a backboard before being transported to hospital as his teammates gathered around him in an emotional scene.
