PFL Chicago Results: Jena Bishop stuns Liz Carmouche to win PFL flyweight championship

Jena Bishop got her revenge and is now the PFL Women’s Flyweight Champion. On Friday night at WinTrust Arena, PFL Chicago fell, with Bishop facing Liz Carmouche for the vacant PFL flyweight title. Carmouche had just knocked out Bishop last year and was a heavy favorite for this rematch, but Bishop didn’t let that stop her, instead scoring a victory over the 42-year-old veteran to win her first title. Carmouche came out strong in the first round, hurting Bishop and looking for the finish. However, Bishop stood his ground and by the second round it looked like the weight cut had really hurt Carmouche as he faded badly. In the third round, it looked like Bishop would run away with things on the gassed Carmouche, backing up and threatening chokes. But in the fourth round, Bishop seemed to recharge as well, and Carmouche recovered by collapsing to first position and causing some damage to Bishop. With everything on the line in the fifth round, Carmouche looked fresher, coming out with renewed energy against a fading Bishop. But Carmouche became surprisingly reckless, allowing Bishop to time a takedown and regain control. Bishop then spent much of the round attacking a rear-naked choke, even sinking one briefly before Carmouche could fight back. Carmouche tried to escape but simply couldn’t get Bishop off of him. In the end, the judges got it right, awarding Bishop a unanimous decision victory and the PFL women’s flyweight title. After the fight, Dakota Ditcheva entered the cage to face Bishop. Ditcheva beat Bishop by TKO in 2024, and now the two will rematch for the flyweight title next year. Check out the full PFL Chicago results below. Jena Bishop defeated.
