Pocono Township Police Department Metallica Harrison Police respond to lodge room after 911 call According to the probable cause affidavit, Pocono Township police officers responded to a room at the Great Wolf Lodge around 3:13 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, after Metallica called the Monroe County Control Center. Police said Metallica told the 911 operator that she needed “help dying” and that she “couldn’t find a vein in her neck to stab her.” Officers found Metallica at the door of the room and saw her bleeding wrist and superficial puncture wounds around her neck, according to the affidavit. Investigators said Metallica told officers she “wanted to be with her husband and son.” Husband and son found stabbed to death, police say. Officers entered the room while checking on Metallica’s family and found Charles and his son dead on separate mattresses on the floor, according to investigators. Police said Charles had suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest. According to authorities, the boy appeared to have suffered a stab wound to the chest. Statements Made During 911 Call Investigators reviewed the recording of Metallica’s 911 call. According to the affidavit, Metallica told the operator, “I’m too weak to stab myself in the neck” and “I need the police.” When the operator asked if he had weapons, Metallica said he had knives and added, “That’s what I’ve been using and it’s not working,” according to the documents. When asked if she was alone, Metallica responded, “My husband and son have already gone to bed in the living room,” according to the affidavit. “They’re gone. I’m sorry,” he said later. Investigators said Metallica did not request help for her husband or son at any time during the call. Statements Made During Ambulance Ride According to police, Metallica was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital-Monroe Campus in Stroudsburg for treatment of her injuries. A Pocono Township police officer accompanied her during transport. During the ambulance ride, police said Metallica stated several times that they were “not supposed to be here.” According to the affidavit, Metallica said, “I got screwed, I got screwed. I just needed energy and strength.” Investigators said Metallica questioned why there wasn’t “an easier way” and asked emergency medical personnel how deep the vein in her wrist was to know “for next time.” According to police, Metallica also stated that she had taken medication to thin her blood and expressed frustration that her blood was clotting. “Every day I work very hard. To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife,” Metallica said, according to the affidavit. “This wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I imagined since I was a kid,” the documents said. Video below: Metallica Harrison accused of killing her husband and son. Two knives recovered from scene, police say. According to investigators, a large butcher knife was found on the bathroom floor and a smaller knife was found in the bathroom sink. Police said both knives had teal handles. Employees at Great Wolf Lodge told investigators that the knives were not the type kept by the resort, according to the affidavit. Police also reported finding several bottles of medication throughout the room. Investigators said a plastic container on the floor and a trash can in the bathroom contained a brownish-red liquid believed to be blood. Surveillance video shows the family’s last movements. Security staff at Great Wolf Lodge told investigators that Charles, Metallica and the 3-year-old boy checked into the resort on September 21. The family extended their reservation on Oct. 5 and was scheduled to leave on Oct. 13, according to the affidavit. According to investigators, police reviewed surveillance video that showed the entire family entering the room at 6:53 p.m. on October 11. At approximately 8:12 p.m., Metallica left the room and used a microwave in a sales area and returned at 8:16 p.m., according to the affidavit. Metallica and Charles left the room at approximately 10:43 p.m., went to the complex’s game room and returned at approximately 11:22 p.m., according to investigators. Police said a surveillance check showed no additional activity at the bedroom door after the couple returned from the game room. Investigators obtain search warrants Police said search warrants were obtained for the hotel, Metallica and Charles’ vehicle, which was parked in the complex’s parking lot. Investigators met with Metallica at the hospital, informed him of his Miranda rights and asked him what led to his hospitalization, according to officials. Police said Metallica responded that she was “suicidal, not stupid” and refused to talk to them. Detectives said they collected an oral swab for DNA testing. Authorities noted that other than lacerations to her left wrist and a puncture wound to her neck, Metallica had no other apparent injuries, bruises or defensive wounds. Police said that based on the evidence, Metallica was charged with two counts of criminal homicide and awaits prosecution.
