A spectacular cloud of “space jelly” was visible in parts of the Southeast and mid-Atlantic Tuesday morning after a SpaceX launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The launch, powered by a Falcon 9 rocket, carried the Cargo Dragon spacecraft. The spacecraft, which has made three previous trips to orbit, carries more than three tons of scientific equipment and supplies to the International Space Station and is expected to arrive Thursday after a 52-hour journey.
