Eric Zeman / Android AuthorityAdd Android Authority at Google: TL;DR Google’s October 2026 Pixel update is now available for Pixel 6 and newer devices. The company cites three major fixes, targeting hardware from Pixel 8 to Pixel 11. This is likely to be the last such update released for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Now that October is here, summer is formally in the rearview mirror and it won’t be long before sweater weather arrives. But a new month also means a new opportunity to update our devices, and just in time, Google is delivering on its latest monthly software update for Pixel phones and tablets. Today, Google is sharing news about its October Pixel update for eligible hardware. Depending on the models you have, you can anticipate getting your hands on a different version. The Pixel 6 and 7 series devices, as well as the first Pixel Fold and Pixel tablet, will get CP3A.261005.002.A1. The new Pixel 11 series is building CD1A.261005.003. And then everyone else on the Pixel 8, 9, and 10 models receive CP3A.261005.005. Reviewing the limited notes Google has provided, we’re learning about three major bug fixes in this release. For Pixel 8 to Pixel 10 models, there is an audio fix: “Fix for an issue that occasionally causes audio noise or ringtone distortion during certain VoIP calls.” Pixel 8 to Pixel 11 series fix some unwanted behavior in apps: “Fix for an issue that caused the virtual keyboard to occasionally not appear when interacting with search input fields.” What we don’t see, however, are changes aimed directly at the Pixel 6 or Pixel 7 models. Still, you’d better not skip a build without good reason, so go ahead and keep an eye on your update notification, anyway. Google says the rollout will happen in phases over the next week, so it may still be a few days before you see anything. For Pixel 6 (and Pixel 6 Pro) users, this could be your last test of monthly updates. Google launched the phones on October 19, 2021, and the company later extended its software support to five years. That means the November update will arrive after the deadline, unless Google announces any last-minute changes. Thank you for being part of our community.
