Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 gives us an early look at next year’s Pixel updates

What you need to know Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 will roll out to Pixel phones ahead of its expected stable release next year. Google is fixing a long list of issues, including crashes, fingerprint freezes, eSIM issues, Wi-Fi glitches, battery drain, and Bluetooth audio glitches. The update rolled out today to Pixel testers with versions for everything from the Pixel 6a family to the Pixel 11. Most devices get DP11.260918.006, while Pixel 11 owners get DP11.260918.005. For the uninitiated, these QPR updates are in addition to the initial release of Android 17 and offer fixes and performance tweaks every three months. They avoid breaking API changes, so developers can test with confidence. So what has been fixed? Quite. Google eliminated 20 bugs this round, including a nasty fingerprint unlock freeze, an eSIM profile that silently turned off, and a camera bug that rotated the video stream 90 degrees during desktop mode calls.
