The Justice Department followed the announcement with a warning on social media, saying that some of the defendants allegedly voted in the 2022 and 2024 elections, and warning others not to try to illegally participate in US elections. “Let this be a warning to ANYONE attempting to cheat and undermine our elections,” the Justice Department wrote. “Spread the word!” According to the Department of Justice, eight noncitizens residing in Texas were charged, while the other cases involved defendants in Idaho, Georgia, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, New Jersey and Michigan. COMMITTING ELECTION FRAUD Mexican citizen Monica Carzoli, 46, a legal permanent resident, admitted to registering to vote and voting in the November 2024 election, according to the Department of Justice. She was arrested this week in Del Rio, Texas. (Department of Justice) In Georgia, the Department of Justice said Analiea Milliscent Eccles, a Venezuelan citizen and DACA recipient, voted nine times between 2008 and 2024. She was charged with voting as a non-citizen and falsely claiming U.S. citizenship to vote. Ávila Gómez, a Mexican citizen residing in Idaho, is accused of falsely claiming U.S. citizenship to register to vote and then vote in May 2022 and November 2024. The indictment also includes wire fraud, passport, identification document, and firearms charges. The Justice Department said Santana Coulibaly, a legal permanent resident of New Jersey, registered to vote in 2016, voted in the 2018 and 2020 federal elections and submitted a provisional ballot in the 2024 presidential election. He also faces allegations involving statements made in his naturalization applications. Deputy Attorney General Colin M. McDonald of the Justice Department’s Fraud Division told Fox News that the Trump administration has now charged 50 noncitizens with voting illegally. ICE ARRESTS PERUVIAN NATIONAL ACCUSED OF VOTING ILLEGALLY IN 2024 ELECTIONS, WHILE DHS CITES SIMILAR CASES Nigerian national Gladys Adaeze Okafor, 56, a legal permanent resident, was arrested and charged with illegally voting in the 2022 elections and allegedly voting in the 2024 general election, according to the Department of Justice. In a separate interview, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin said a broader investigation was underway. Mullin said officials have more than 1,620 open cases and have made 151 arrests. He also said authorities are investigating more than 300,000 suspected cases, a number he said continues to grow.
