iOS 27 launched this week with the new Siri AI. David Pogue put the new Siri to the test by testing 125 requests, here’s how it went. iOS 27’s new Siri AI impresses David Pogue after 125 tests Siri has been built into the iPhone for almost 15 years. But during that time, many Apple users have grown accustomed to relying solely on Siri for certain supported tasks. For example, I’ve long relied on Siri to create reminders, start timers, play Apple Music, and when I’m driving, I use it to send messages. However, outside of those few limited tasks, Siri’s shortcomings have trained me not to trust her. But the new Siri AI in iOS 27 is a big update that can do much more than ever before. However, it may take you some time to adjust to it being your preferred option. That’s why I found David Pogue’s new Substack post so useful. Titled “125 Tests of the New Siri AI,” Pogue lists more than 100 prompts he tested with Siri AI and details how the assistant did it. Here are some examples that caught my attention: 28. 46. Delete all my alarms. (“Do you want to delete 38 alarms on the Clock?” Tap to confirm.) With almost all 125 tests, Siri was successful. And among the few glitches, like sending a Venmo payment, Siri AI will probably work better after third parties update their apps for iOS 27 and Siri AI support.
