Teen dead after crash in Portland Authorities say two other people were injured in the crash on Warren Avenue. PORTLAND, Maine — A teenager is dead and two others are injured after a crash on Warren Ave. in Portland. Authorities say a group of teenagers were walking toward Riverside St. near the I-95 overpass Saturday night when a vehicle driven by a 48-year-old man from Portland was driving in the same direction. Investigators believe the group hit the road abruptly and three teenagers were hit by the vehicle. Authorities say a 13-year-old boy died from his injuries at the scene. A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old were taken to Maine Medical Center. Authorities say they have serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The superintendent of Portland Public Schools confirmed that the group included three Deering High School students. He says the student who died was a classmate from a neighboring community. It also says support teams, including counselors and social work providers, will be ready and available Monday morning to help affected students. Officials are investigating the incident. They say the driver is cooperating with the investigation and no charges have been filed yet. The area was closed for about five hours during the incident.
