Three years after quarterback Jayden Daniels put together a Heisman-winning season at LSU, the attitude of the fan base has taken a sharp turn. It’s a direct result of the recent dispute over the reissue of issue #5, a move to which Daniels had a strong reaction. Beyond cracking a thousand jokes, it caused many of the more than 100,000 who attended Saturday night’s Clemson-LSU game to have a strong reaction to an image of Daniels on the video board. The ESPN college football Twitter account posted a clip of former LSU players in the NFL (not to be confused with former NFL players at LSU), going around one NFL team at a time. When the Commanders page landed, showing Daniels and K’Lavon Chaisson, the reaction went from generally positive to clearly negative. It’s not a surprise, but it’s the first tangible evidence of fans’ collective reaction to seeing Daniels’ name and likeness.
