Here’s what’s coming with the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, according to Mark Gurman Today Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman published his latest expectations for the new iPhones that will be introduced on September 9. While most of the report covers the features reported above, a few noteworthy details stand out. For example, Apple has a new “mechanical aperture” camera feature coming to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and possibly the smaller iPhone 18 Pro as well. Despite many reports about this camera upgrade, which has also been called “variable aperture,” there have been minimal details about what it will allow. But Gurman reports today that it will be “to fine-tune light settings and depth control.” Additionally, the new report says that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will have “better battery life and improved vapor chambers to prevent overheating.” Improvements in the battery were already expected, but it is good to see them confirmed. However, the mention of improved vapor chambers is a new detail. Apple first introduced a vapor chamber on the iPhone last year with the iPhone 17 Pro. It looks like the company already has a second-generation version ready. Finally, Gurman says “internal C2 modems” will come to the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. While this is not a new rumor, it is worth noting because some reports have claimed that Apple will continue to use Qualcomm modems again this year.
