Introducing: The Gallet Flying Officer

As I did with UG, I want to withhold my full opinion until I see them in person (that practical impression influenced me earlier), but on paper, I like these new Flight Officers. The light blue chronograph, with its tone-on-tone subdials and beige strap, is my pick of the bunch and makes me wish summer had a few more months left. But between four dial colors and two movement architectures, you’d be hard pressed to find one of these you wouldn’t want on your wrist. My real question is how do you use that 40mm case in person? Priced between $2,900 and $4,600, the Flying Officer enters a crowded field of travel watches and chronographs under $5,000. Still, this collection seems like a strong statement of intent for Gallet’s relaunch. I’m looking forward to getting one this week in Geneva.
